What You Need

Step 1: Install Lynio on Your iPhone
Open the App Store on your iPhone, search for Lynio, and install it. When you first open the app you'll see an animated walkthrough of what it does — watch at least the first two cards, as they explain what you're about to set up and make the rest of the process easier to follow.
Step 2: Install the Lynio Watch App on Your Galaxy Watch
This is the one step that uses an Android device — the Lynio watch-side companion installs through the Google Play Store. On any Android phone or tablet:
- 1Open the Google Play Store
- 2Search for Lynio Watch
- 3Tap Install
- 4When prompted, select your Galaxy Watch from the list of connected devices
- 5Confirm the installation on your watch when it appears
The watch app installs in under a minute. Once it's on the watch, you won't need the Android device again.
Step 3: Put Your Galaxy Watch in Pairing Mode
- 1Swipe down from the watch face to open the Quick Settings panel and confirm Bluetooth is enabled
- 2Open Settings on the watch
- 3Go to Connections → Bluetooth → Pair new device
Your watch is now discoverable and ready to pair with your iPhone.
Step 4: Pair in the Lynio iPhone App
- 1Open the Lynio app and tap Connect a Watch
- 2Allow Lynio to access Bluetooth when prompted
- 3Lynio scans for nearby Wear OS devices — your Galaxy Watch should appear within a few seconds; tap its name
- 4A pairing code appears on both your iPhone screen and your watch face — confirm they match, then tap Pair on the watch
The connection is established — you'll see a green Connected badge in Lynio and on your watch screen.
Step 5: Grant Notification Permissions
For your iPhone notifications to appear on your Galaxy Watch, Lynio needs notification access. Tap Allow when Lynio prompts you after connecting, or go to iPhone Settings → Notifications → Lynio and enable Allow Notifications.
Once granted, every app you allow — Messages, WhatsApp, Gmail, Instagram, and the rest — mirrors to your Galaxy Watch in real time.
Step 6: Test the Connection
- →Notifications: ask someone to send you a message — it should appear on your watch within 2–3 seconds
- →Calls: have someone call your iPhone — the incoming call should appear on your Galaxy Watch with the caller's name if they're in your contacts
- →Auto-reconnect: lock your iPhone, wait 30 seconds, and check your watch — the connection should remain active
If all three work, your setup is complete.
Setting Up Without an Android Phone
Option 1 — Borrow an Android device. Any Android phone or tablet running Android 9 or above works. You only need it for the 5 minutes the watch app install takes — a friend's phone, an old device you have stored away, or a device at a phone shop all work.
Option 2 — Let Lynio handle it directly. Lynio can push the watch-side app directly to your Galaxy Watch over Bluetooth — entirely from your iPhone, with no Android device involved at any point. Follow the in-app prompts and the watch app installs automatically. No emulator, no borrowed phone, no technical steps.
Troubleshooting Common Setup Issues
Watch not appearing in the Lynio scan: confirm Bluetooth is enabled on both devices, press the side button to wake the watch screen, keep the iPhone and watch within 1 metre of each other, then restart the Lynio app and scan again.
Pairing code doesn't match: tap Cancel on both devices and restart the pairing process from pairing mode. This usually happens when the watch goes to sleep mid-pairing — tap the screen to keep it awake.
Notifications not appearing on the watch: confirm notification permissions are granted in iPhone Settings → Notifications → Lynio, then open Lynio → App Notifications and check that the specific app is enabled on the watch side.
Connection drops when you get in your car: a known Bluetooth conflict with car audio systems. In Lynio, go to Settings → Connection Profiles and add your car's Bluetooth as a secondary connection — Lynio keeps the watch link active independently of the car audio.
Connection drops when the iPhone screen locks: in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Bluetooth, confirm Lynio has permanent Bluetooth access (not "While Using App"), and enable Background Connection in Lynio's settings if it isn't already on.
